Kay Anne Alexander

Kay Anne Alexander, 56, of Evansville, Indiana, died November 6, 2002, 11 p.m. at her residence. Kay was a nurse for 33 years at Welborn and St. Mary's hospitals. She was charge nurse in both Welborn and St. Mary's emergency rooms. She received the Nursing Excellence Award in 2001. She was a member of the Emergency Nurses Association, where she held many offices. She was a member of the Nursing Institute Staff Council Board. She was a member of En-Care. She was ACLS and PALS certified. Kay was a TNCC Course Coordinator. She was an employee of TSI Group Home Services. She enjoyed playing with the Southern Hollow Dulcimer and Folk Group. Kay was a member of the Clan Montgomery Society. She was a substitute instructor of Aquacise at the YMCA. She was a supporter of the Evansville Philharmonic. Kay was past president and held other offices of the ENA Evansville Chapter River City Road Runners. She is a designated requester of the Indiana Organ Procurement Organization and was an organ donor.

Kay is survived by daughter, Jenna Alexander of Evansville, Ind.; mother and stepfather, Claire and Kenneth Williams, of Evansville, Ind.; sister, Lori Alexander of Evansville, Ind.; brother, Jon Alexander and his wife, Debbie of Estes Park, Colo.; stepsister, Clarissa Powell and her husband, Mahlon of Mount Vernon, Ind.; stepbrother, Kenneth L. Williams Jr. and his wife, Margie of Portland, Texas; aunt, Lorrane Leider of Manitowoc, Wis.; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2002, at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Reverend William Caple. Burial will be at Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may call Monday, November 11, 2002, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Alexander North Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or Centenary United Methodist Church Endowment Fund. Arrangements are by Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road.
