After graduation with a BA in sociology from the University of Evansville, I received an MSW (Masters of Social Work) from the University of Denver in 1970. John Fish and I were married from 1972 until 1980 and remained friends. In '72-'73 we spent 8 months hitchhiking through Europe having adventures and seeing art treasures, with a 3 month rest on a remote Greek island mid-trip. Except for time out for travel and a year or so trying a midlife career change to interior decorating and art consultation (fun, but not financially successful) I have enjoyed being a social worker in a variety of settings, mostly public hospitals and schools serving minority and low income populations. Working during the school year for the past 12 years allows me time to travel and create folk art. Best trips include 5 weeks in Africa and 5 months in Central and South America. Having no children, I enjoy my role as aunt to my niece. Life is good. |
