ESCONDIDO CA - Carol Jean (Fortner) Krein, 58, died Thursday, March 17, 2005 .

Born Oct ober 13, 1946 , in Evansville , Indiana , she lived in Escondido for 29 years.  She was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, and the Red Hat Society.  She attended Community Lutheran Church in Escondido .  She graduated from Bosse High School in Evansville .

Mrs. Krein was survived by her husband of 29 years, Arthur J. Krein of Escondido; daughters and son-in-law Amy Dawn and Terry Schulz of Lake Forrest, Holly Diane Stone of Snoqualmie, Wash., and Carey Delane Krein of Escondido; mother Billie Fortner of Evansville, Indiana; brother and sister-in-law Mac and Cindy Fortner of Evansville; and grandchildren Corey, Rebecca, Brooklyn, J. J., Bailey, Jacob and Bishop.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Community Lutheran Church , 3575 E. Valley Parkway in Escondido .

Thank you for posting this about Carol. She will truly be missed. I am so thankful that I got to see her and spend some time with her at the reunion. Betty... thanks for getting us together for lunch, it was so nice being with my old friends, seeing you, Carol and Karyn Howard and getting to know Judy Morris. We had a good time and I will always remember the special time we got to have with Carol and going down memory lane and getting to know each other all over again.
God be with her family and friends. We have lost a beautiful person.
